I’m not normally one to jump online to do company reviews (except on Ebay, but that feels more like duty on there) but a few days ago I decided to place an order for some jewellery through a seller I found by chance on Instagram (of all places!). It’s not a massive deal, I mean, I was only online shopping, right? Well, it is kind of a big deal, because although Sugar and Vice, the creative company I bought said jewellery from, have a lot of fans and customers, they are what I would consider a small and local business. Not a massive commercial business that churns out any old shit. They create each piece with pride and you can tell that they value their customers because of the gift bundle that came with my order (and the cute packaging). There’s just something about the excitement and anticipation when ordering from a seller like that which I both can’t explain and love. As someone who is also trying to make a niche in the UK’s indy handmade/local accessory/jewellery business my reactions to this particular order means a lot, as I hope one day people feel the same when ordering something from me.
Actually, there are a good few lovely ladies I’ve recently discovered via Instagram, and I can’t express how motivated they have kept me! ♥
